While sorting out the Christmas decorations I came across these glass pebbles which had been tucked away and forgotten. When they are photographed they seem to glow rather than reflecting the light back, I found the paperweights also did the same if I got the angle of the light just right. The depth of focus also added to the interest of drawing this, I kept the larger paperweight in crisp focus which meant that some of the pebbles at the front and back became blurred and this added to the depth.
Luminosity While sorting out the Christmas decorations I came across these glass pebbles which had been tucked away and forgotten. Luminosity was created using Faber Castell Polychromos pencils, the first layer was blended with Mona Lisa mineral spirits then more details were added over the top, again with the Polychromos. The support is white Pastelmat and the completed size is 8"x12" It's currently in a dark mount as I feel that sets off the sparkle better than my usual white or cream mounts.
